That's a big Meatball

For a fun family outing we decided to take the kids to the movies. We've seen a few previews for the movie Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs and thought it looked really cute.

We headed out and had some nice buttery popcorn and settled in for the flick. Both kids were very excited to be there and to see a movie. The theater was pretty empty and for a while we thought we were gonna have the place to ourselves. Andrew got a little restless waiting for the movie but once it started he was glued to the screen.

After it was all over Megan gave it a thumbs up. She loves most movie, I wonder where she gets that from. She loved the previews of up coming movies and wants to see pretty much all of the 5 that were shown. Andrew liked the movie but got a little scared at the big pieces of food falling down at the end. He wasn't too crazy about that part but the rest was entertaining and he also has informed us that his next movie needs to be the Princess and the Frog. He has asked to kiss me several times and then giggles telling me I'm a frog now. We just might have to hit that one up when it comes out. With two parents that love movies my kids never stood a chance.

As my kids got ready for school on a special spirit day I couldn't resist taking their picture. They were super cute and excited to show their school spirit. It made me think of when I got to wear my school spirit gear and how exciting it is when you're young. I got a nice laugh looking back at how I looked and just thinking back to the memories. Good times........

NorthWest Trek 5k Stroll

MarGene and I went on a Run Wild 5k walk this last weekend. As this was my first event like this I had no idea what to expect and as we got up in the morning to go it was pouring down rain out. We arrived in plenty of time and I was amazed at how many people were there for the event and the different fitness levels. There was also an 8k run and 5k run going on. Since this was my first event and I'm completely out of shape I thought it safer to go with the walk.

Our trek took us through some really beautiful forests. It was really a ton of fun except for the constant rain which we had the whole time of the race. I couldn't find a dry spot on me to wipe my face as I opted for no umbrella. It was kind of nice to have the rain cool you off. Yet not so fun when you had water in your nose and eyes.

After the race we hung out for a raffle and I won a $50 gift card towards a new pair of running shoes. It was such a fun thing to go out and do. I would like to make sure I go again next year and just maybe hit the 5k run.

The event fee paid for your admission to the park and it included a tram ride through the grounds. This was a really neat way to end our day. The tram took us through different parts of the park and the wildlife would get right up close to the tram. It was really cool and I enjoyed every minute.

I'm so glad I got the chance to go. I really can't explain just how cool it was to experience. The area was fun and the people were all really friendly. It was an awesome way to get in some much needed exercise for me. I look forward to finding a few more 5k events and trying to get myself in shape enough to take the next step towards a run.

Fair Dayz

The fair has rolled back into town and we couldn't resist going. After the kids got off the bus from school we loaded up the car and headed out for some fun.

The kids wasted no time in asking to hit the rides first thing. We decided to take a stroll through the fair grounds and end up at the rides section. This was so we could look at all there was and if we saw some yummy food or treasures we might need to stop for a purchase.

What ended up happening from our stroll is that we arrived at the big kid ride area and Megan got really excited. This was the first year that she wanted to go on rides a bit more daring than the kiddie section could offer. We allowed the kids to each pick 10 rides.

This was a good little system and we only had one little meltdown from Andrew when he couldn't be the driver on the bumper cars because he was too short. We had to head over to the kiddie section quickly after that so he could get on some rides of his pick that he was tall enough to ride.

The kids loved the rides of course. Both got a little impatient at times as you can imagine. The fair is just so much action it is hard to wait for a brother or a sister to have a turn or a line to move faster.

They had the free face painting for kids under the age of 12. My kids picked their arm for their art work. Andrew got a green horse and Megan picked a pink dolphin. Both loved that and wore them to school the next day.

What is there that isn't to love at the fair. It is definitely a treat for all ages. We ended our night with some yummy elephant ears and headed to the car.

Fun was had by all in the few hours we were there. It was nice to hit it up as a fun family activity and I'm sure we'll go again in the years to come.

License and Registration Please

In the area once a year the community puts on an event called "Touch A Truck." This is where several business lend their large vehicles for a few hours and let the kids explore. Every kids dream is to get to be in the driver seat and feel like a big adult.

I was surprised to see such a big display. I'd say there were at least 20 vehicles to choose from and horns honking everywhere. My kids loved every minute of it and were really good as they waited in line for their turn.

Megan really enjoyed honking every horn available. The louder the better and she grinned from ear to ear each time she honked one. This was much to Jeff's dismay as he hated listening to the horns and didn't want it to be one of his kids contributing. I told him to stop being a stick in the mud. The horns may have been a bit annoying but it was fun for the kids which is why we were there.






Most of the vendors had little cute give away stuff and the kids enjoyed collecting their treats and treasures. I think fun was had by all and it was a nice little outing. Something different that the kids enjoyed.

Quick Trip for Kendra

So MarGene, Megan, and myself got on a plane for a quick trip to California for Kendra's Baptism. Megan was super excited to get to see everyone and have this be a special trip with just her.

We arrived the day of the Baptism and you could feel it was a special day. Megan was all caught up in how special everything was for Kendra and now has an idea of what will be in store for her when she turns 8.

It was nice to be with family and get all caught up. The Baptism was really nice and I'm very happy that we had the chance to be there. We had some great highlights from Brianne lifting up her cousins dresses during their special musical number to Caden's well timed comments. It was packed with memories and an experience well worth having. Any reason to be with family is a good reason for me.

The Circus is here!

The Circus has hit the area so we decided to take the kids for some fun entertainment. I was a bit nervous about taking Andrew but Jeff assured me he'd be okay.

We were about 6 rows up from all the action my kids loved every minute of being there. They were glued to whatever was happening down below. I have to say I was very impressed at how they kept the show moving and the constant activity going on. There wasn't a dull moment to be had except for the 15 minute intermission.

I'm not even sure the kids blinked for the almost 2 hours show. Andrew loved all the animals and all the action going on. Megan thought the clowns were funny and was old enough to understand most of the tricks they preformed.

You name it and they had most of what you'd typically find at a circus. We had a ton of fun. My flash couldn't always reach so alot of my pictures came out dark. I've tried to pick the ones you can see well to get the idea of the show.

It was crazy tricks and more. Andrew has not stopped talking about elephants and has already asked to go to the circus again. I guess that is a really good sign that my family loved it.
